Commission on the subscriptions is 20%,
unless on the order (such as a book fair)
the commission is less, then the commission
on the subscription would match the lower
rate. On book fair orders and Literacy
for a Lifetime orders the shipping would be
charged, as the home office is auto shipping
these each month and quite a bit of shipping
cost is actually incurred on their end.

Most of my subscriptions have been with
schools/libraries – Home shows are an amazing place to
get those subscriptions too, so don’t forget to share
there just as much.
I mailed out to my listed schools (snail mail) the
information that HO has provided us.
All that information is on the FTP site. (log on to
company website:
www.myubam.com,
hover over DOWNLOADS along the left, click FTP, Flyers
from the Home Office, Conspiracy 365) I also
included something to remember me – usually bookmarks
available from the home office.
If
a school requests a book to preview – I’m ok with doing
that – everyone that reads the book will buy a
subscription (or 5) and most likely will tell other
media specialist so the small investment was well worth
it.
The
key to getting a sale is to follow up with a
phone call a few days later.
I
don’t ask if they want to buy it at that time – I ask if
they received the information, if they have any
questions and/or if they need any more information.
If they didn’t receive the info (or can’t find it on
their desk) then I ask them if it’s ok to send them the
link to take a peek at the trailer and read the first
chapter. They always say yes to that.
That’s pretty
much it. I do have to say that getting on the
phone is essential. I do hate the phone so that’s
such a hard one for me – you know the desk has to be
perfectly clean, laundry done, kitchen cleaned, Cathy
called, emails answered, Facebook updated (just kidding)
–anything but that phone – I know you do it too –Trust
me it is well worth following up with those schools.

This is an amazing set of books – my media specialists
are extremely happy and the word is spreading quickly.
It’s such a fun time to be a part of UBAM…(and the
commission and override is pretty good too)
Let’s see how many of these books we can sell by the end
of the month. A bit of friendly competition always

The series is written by
Gabrielle Lord, a bestselling Australian author of
adult crime novels. The Conspiracy 365
series is a thrilling suspense novel that runs for a
year - with a book released each month to continue the
story. The series is geared for ages 11–15.
Here's how the author herself, describes the series:

The story is told in real time, and the books include
codes and clues/pictures to help readers figure out the
mystery about who wants Callum dead. The pages are also
numbered backwards, beginning with 192 and working down
to 0 - with each book ending with a cliffhanger.
All the clues readers need to unravel the mystery are
found in the books.

IT'S GREAT!!!
What a page turner! My mail came right before I
picked up my little darlings from middle school, so
I took the book with me, hoping to get to read it a
bit in carpool line. Arriving right as the kids
came out of school, Camille (age 11) quickly spotted
it and knew right where the online preview chapter
left off. She read it all the way home, walked in
the house reading and parked herself on the couch
until she was done. All I heard was "shhhh
Mom....not now." When the household was all asleep
I was sneaking out of bed to get the book and
couldn't find it! I checked the living room, dining
room, great room (you get the picture) and finally
looked in Martin's room (age 13) and there it was
(!) with his bookmark about 2/3 into it. I took it
to bed and read it in about 2 hours, ending at
1:30am, then took it back down to Martin's room
incase he woke up early in the am looking for it.
:-)
It's a real page
turner! That sweet Callum is so dedicated to
his family. And he is trying to do all the right
things, altho he gets into some pretty sticky
situations, some of them are pretty desperate, as
you probably read from the teaser online. In the
Publishers Weekly article you might have noticed
that it states the pages are numbered backwards -
this is interested when reading, as it's like the
whole count down thing, counting down the 365 days.
The language is always clean - this
is a question that I hear over and over again.
Randall and Kira have assured us that there is no
cussing in this series, so you can pass that along
to your consultants and customers if they have
concerns. :-) This
series is going to be fantastic for us!!! I
hope you're thinking about how you're training your
team to really tap into the middle school market.
We have a HUGE benefit by it being exclusive to
theconsultants and now we just need to be ready to
move thousands of copies in to the hands of kids!
Once they read the first one, they'll be eager for
the subsequent books the day they're available.
